Business Goals for 2020
How is it already almost 2020?! 2019 was so good to Homemade Social, and I want to make 2020 even better for our team and clients!
I’m usually one to almost *stress* about setting goals. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing or where I’m going, but then these ideas just come to me and the goals flow and I know it’s meant to be.
Keep reading for some of the goals I’m setting for Homemade Social for 2020! Feel free to comment below or DM us with any questions (or suggestions!) as we’d love to hear from you or help your biz in the new year.
Happy New Year!! Xx Becca
Grow Our Client Base (& Team!)
OBVIOUSLY, the best way to grow an agency is to grow our clientele. More clients = more income = more money to pay more team members. Which is the goal!
However..
I’d like to get really specific this year about our ideal clientele and pitch, pitch, pitch to them! We’ve been really lucky to have almost all of our leads come through referrals or our social media channels, and I know that doing outreach can make some big changes for our business.
With that, I’d love to grow our team! You guys know Alyah & Haley, and then this upcoming semester we’ll welcome three interns to the team as well. I’d love to grow more with Alyah & Haley, and possibly add a third to the team as well to help with client management.
Expand Our Service Offerings
Since we market Homemade Social as a “social media agency”, we can only control so much of a client’s success if we are ONLY handling their social media. Many times, this can be frustrating for us as a third party.
For example - what if we drive alllllll this traffic to a client’s website (through social media platforms), and they don’t have a website designed to convert leads or sales? Or what if they don’t have a system to grow their email list? Or maybe they are doing any email marketing at all? Or the photos they get from their photographer, well, suck?
As our team continues to grow, I plan to expand our service offerings for our clients. The areas (in addition to social media marketing, social media advertising, and influencer marketing) that I’d love to dive into are:
Content creation / photography
Email marketing
Blogging
Branding
Website design
Maybe we won’t expand into ALL of these areas of 2020, but I feel that our clients will benefit from having a one-stop-shop to go to for all of their marketing needs.
Grow Our Newsletter List
A couple of months ago, we finally hit 1,000 subscribers! We have been super consistent with our email marketing in 2019 and stuck to a strict schedule - and the work paid off!
We also just switched to a BEAUTIFUL new email marketing system called Flodesk. The designs are so much more thoughtful and creative than Mailchimp’s (who we used previously), and it’s SO much cheaper. Like 4x cheaper I think. You can use our code here to get 50% off for life!
As we head into 2020, I’d love to get our newsletter list to 5,000 by continuing to provide value to our subscribers through social media tips, free downloads, and more.
Be More Active On IG Stories
While we offer Instagram Story management for our clients, Stories have been on the backburner for us at a @homemadesocial_, mainly because we don’t have the hands to do it all.
Hopefully, this will become a project for one of our interns this upcoming semester so we can connect and engage more with our audience by providing them with more educational and entertaining content!
Create More Online Courses
In 2019 we launched our first online course on Instagram Stories! In 2020, I’d love to expand our online course offerings. It’s a great way for us to make more passive income and to work with clients who may need social media help, but who don’t necessarily need an agency.
Here are some course topics I’d love to cover in 2020:
All things Instagram
Managing all of your social media platforms
Becoming a social media freelancer
Systems, Systems, Systems
Omg - this is the biggest priority that I am working on right now. We already have some great systems in place, but the more I learn and the more I grow, the more systems I discover we can implement to automate our work, save us time, and be able to provide for more clients.
For example, we could improve and elaborate our systems further for:
Client on-boarding
Client off-boarding
Team on-boarding
Blog writing
Content discovery
Engaging
