5 Tips for Growing Your Business With IG Reels

Reels are one of Instagram’s latest features that essentially look and work just like TikTok. With over 500 million daily active users, your Reels are sure to be discovered. Read on for our top tips for growing your Instagram with IG Reels!

CONSUME TO STAY ON-TREND & INSPIRED

The first step to creating is consuming. Take some time each week to scroll through TikTok and note the trends you’re seeing. Rather than watching the short clips like you typically would for entertainment purposes, view them through the lens of a content creator. How can you put your own twist on these trends in a way that is relevant to your business? How can you utilize one of the trending sounds of the moment to get in front of a new audience?

CONSIDER YOUR 9 PILLARS

Your "9 pillars" are the 9 areas of content that you post about most on Instagram. Think of them as the categories on your blog or in your online shop. Some of our content pillars include: our services, clients, team, social media tips, self-care tips, and more! Anything that goes outside of these established pillars should NOT be posted on your Instagram, including your Instagram Reels. 

Why bother reaching an audience with content unrelated to the rest of your profile? Once users discover and like your video, they can easily tap on your profile to see other quality content from you. If they like what they see, they’ll follow for more, so it’s important to keep your content on-brand and consistent!

HAVE A CONSISTENT SCHEDULE

Like all things with your social media strategy, establish a consistent posting schedule for Instagram Reels. Our team saw the most growth when we posted 2 Reels per week, but remember: quality over quantity ALWAYS! 

CREATE INSTAGRAM REELS IN BATCHES

Between researching trends, brainstorming videos, filming, and editing, jumping on the Instagram Reels bandwagon can require more time that one might initially expect. Our top tip is to batch work and pre-record several Reels at once that can be posted over the span of a few weeks. 

With the current #workfromhome lifestyle, batch-recording means you only have to get “camera” ready once a week (or however often you’d prefer to record). It’s truly a win-win.

When you’re proud of the content you create, SHARE IT! Share the IG Reel to your story and allow it to live on your grid at least until your next Reel is uploaded.
