Social Media Apps and Platforms We Use For Running A Social Media Agency

At Homemade Social, we love nothing more than efficiently being able to elevate our client brands by implementing social media into their business model. In order to be efficient, we’ve spent time researching and putting many social media apps and platforms to use that help keep us afloat and save times by being able to batch work & systemize.

Below are our favorite social media apps and platforms we’ve discovered over the years that have helped us to grow our social media agency or save time in one way or another. Here’s why we use and love them!

Asana

We use Asana for managing our team tasks, and projects. This platform allows us to easily delegate tasks to each team member while keeping it organized by client.

Our favorite thing about Asana is it allows any task to be recurring - which is very common when managing social media accounts since there are so many tasks that we do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis that need to be repeated. Asana also allows each task to have sub-tasks, which makes it super easy to train interns and new employees because each step for each task can be easily laid out.

Later

You’ve heard us say it before and we’ll say it again - Later is our FAVORITE Instagram scheduling tool. We plan all of our clients' Instagram accounts using this incredible platform. The ease of use and incredible customer service are just a couple things we love about Later!

For more information about Later and why we love it, you can read our blog post here.

Planoly

Planoly is another great tool for Instagram scheduling that is better if you prefer planning your grid visually FIRST (then strategy, second). However, it is more expensive than Later and isn’t as easy to work with multiple team members (IMO).

Canva

Guys, Canva is the SH!T. Canva is a great tool to use to make any sort of graphic quickly and easily without having to know how to use Photoshop. The majority of our graphics made for Homemade Social and our clients are done through Canva! You can sign up here.

Dubsado

Dubsado is the best CRM system we’ve found for the price! We use Dubsado for keeping our internal systems automated and organized. Dubsado allows us to keep track of our leads and it automatically follows up with them to send links to book calls, proposals, contracts, invoices, and more.  We also are able to automatically track payments (& remind clients when their payment is late) and take notes for client projects in one place.

You can sign up for Dubsado here

Wave

Wave is a free (!!) accounting platform. We use this weekly to reconcile our bank transactions and monthly to run reports for profit/loss.

We hire out financial help and guidance through The Finance Agency who can be found here and they help us to organize and budget our finances each month. Mention us when booking your services with them! They’re amazing.

Flodesk

Flodesk is a new email marketing builder that we are obsessed with. There is so much room for creativity in designing your email campaigns, putting together workflows, and creating opt-in forms to grow your email list. They already have a library with tons of incredible email templates that are free to use! Flodesk includes all features for one incredibly low price.

Plus, we have a discount code that will give you 50% off your subscription eternally! Sign up here

Zenefits

We use Zenefits for all things related to HR. It makes it so easy for our employees to clock in and out, request time off, and keep track of their accrued paid time off. It handles our payroll automatically every two weeks (we just have to go in and approve it) and send you all the forms you need at the end of the year to pay your taxes with ease.

You pay a yearly fee per employee. You can sign up here

Tailwind

Tailwind is our favorite tool for Pinterest Scheduling. We are able to schedule pins and make sure our client accounts always have updated pins going out each day. We also use this to schedule pins that we design for client products or blog posts and want to routinely be posted to Pinterest.

You can get your first month of Tailwind free by signing up with this link!

Whatagraph

If you hate putting together analytics reports, Whatagraph makes it SO easy. It syncs with almost any digital marketing platform (ie. Google Adwords, Facebook Business Manager, Instagram, etc) and puts together beautiful analytics reports that you can share with your team or clients.

It’s a little pricey, but you can sign up here

We hope this blog was helpful for you in discovering social media apps and platforms to help you grow your social media agency. We’ll catch ya on the ‘Gram and in our weekly social media newsletter. Chat soon!
