Have you ever gone in to edit your Instagram bio only to realize you didn’t know what to add or change so you just left defeated? Sometimes you just want to spruce up your Instagram page with new presets, highlight covers, selfies or just simply your Instagram bio! We’re going to talk specifically about how to update your Instagram bio so it’s serving you and/or your brand in the best way possible. We have some Instagram bio examples, tips, tricks & ideas for you to implement in your bio so if you’re interested, keep on reading!
Name & Username
This might seem pretty obvious, but there’s actually a bigger reason for it: your name and username are the only fields that Instagram considers in search queries. This means that when people go to search for someone, whatever your name or username is will generate results! Here’s an example; If someone were to search “AZ” people whose username has AZ in it not only shows up but so does peoples who has “AZ” in the name on Instagram, so you can use this to your advantage.
Let’s say that you are a hairstylist. You could also simply but hairstylist in your Instagram name so that if someone were to search that word, you’d be more likely to appear in their results! It’s a really smart tactic to help generate more traffic to your account and get new clients or customers.

Creating your bio section basically is a SUPER quick summary of what you have to offer the viewer, who you or your company is and the most important details you want people to know. An overwhelming bio is not an effective bio, so it is good to switch out information & make updates weekly! Here is a simple checklist that you can go through when adding or changing your bio section…
Explain who you are and what you do
Target your niche audience with specific keywords
Link to your website or blog, or use Linkin.bio to send followers to your shoppable Instagram feed
Share your personality
Provide a way for your followers to get in touch
Link In Bio
One more tip we have for you is a resource called Linktree. We mentioned it above and if you are unfamiliar with it, we’ll explain what it is now! Instagram only allows you to have ONE link in your bio. At first, this was really annoying until we realized there’s a quick and easy solution called Linktree. All you have to do is log on with your desired Instagram account and then you’re able to add in multiple links to different sites and it will generate it all under one link! How helpful right? Then you can just put that one link in your bio and people are able to click it to see the multiple links you have.
Hopefully, these Instagram bio examples and tips help you clean up & create a more intentional Instagram bio that brings your followers a better understanding of who you want to be perceived as! Long story short, express yourself through your bio because this many times will be someone’s first impression of you! Wishing you the best of luck on your Instagram bio creation endeavors, you totally got this.
