Everything Our Agency Does To Prep Client Campaigns For Q4
Each year, it’s practically a marketer’s tradition to brace themselves (and their strategy) for Q4. For the homies, this means gearing up for the holiday promotion season. It’s crucial to set up each client’s campaign strategy to ensure we achieve maximum ROI. Here are three essential tips we use each year to enhance our client campaign strategy and ensure our marketing efforts thrive every Q4 like clockwork.
CAMPAIGN STRATEGY TIP #1: REVIEW CAMPAIGNS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS
To kick off Q4 campaign strategy preparations, we start by analyzing what posts went live last year. As we dissect our previous content, we ask ourselves questions like:
What worked?
What didn’t work?
What new features and trending strategies can we apply to this year’s content?
By reviewing previous campaigns, we can identify successful elements that resonated with each client’s audience. Additionally, this gives us an opportunity to find out which efforts fell flat and decide whether they could simply use some fine-tuning or if the idea needs to be scrapped altogether. This insight allows us to refine our campaign strategy and enhance our messaging for the upcoming season, unlocking new levels of ROI for our clients, while helping to drive engagement.
By leveraging insights from past campaigns, we can build on our experiences to strengthen future strategies and ensure they stay aligned with evolving social media trends. In previous years, for example, we’ve noted that our email marketing efforts around Black Friday reap significant results in terms of website traffic and overall conversions for several clients. This insight has led us to recommend ramping up our email marketing initiatives with additional newsletters around their most important marketing messages. Complementing this strategy, we are proactive in encouraging newsletter sign-ups on other channels, like social, to incentivize first access to holiday promos and build their email list overall. Lastly, by analyzing our top-performing subject lines and preview text from previous years, we also ensure we are crafting compelling, attention-grabbing emails that resonate and maximize open rates.
CAMPAIGN STRATEGY TIP #2: STAY UPDATED ON NEW SOCIAL FEATURES
The digital landscape, especially on social media, is ever-evolving, and keeping up with the latest industry buzz is no light responsibility for us. By staying updated on the latest social media trends, our clients gain a competitive edge through our early adoption of innovative features that position them ahead for Q4. This not only increases their visibility by standing out but also helps drive engagement, ultimately leading to improved performance in their campaign strategy.
By prioritizing agility in our content planning strategy, we're quick to leverage any new update wherever we can in our campaign strategy. These new features can include everything from:
New Meta ad options
Interactive Instagram updates
In-app shopping
Features as simple as extra links in bios
And more!
This has been especially successful in our work with client, Defyne! We’ve helped them promote two events through our partnership, the first being their launch party. Through the promotion of this event, we added a secondary link to their bio that sent users directly to where they needed to RSVP. We also proactively planned and executed photoshoots in advance to ensure we had quality assets to create content that further promoted the event. When creating promotional content, we made sure to capitalize on current trends in audio and Reel concepts. Through these efforts, we saw a spike in link clicks and Defyne enjoyed a packed house for their launch party!
Similarly, on our own IG, we have been sprinkling polls into captions since they rolled out in March 2024. This has helped drive engagement and spark conversations in our comment sections! After testing out its success on our own account, we’ve been tactfully incorporating this into other clients' strategies to enrich their communities. This feature has been key in expanding relationships with our followers and building stronger relationships with our already engaged community.
We’ve also leveraged in-Reel shopping for our client, Avery Apothecary to make the purchasing process easier than ever for consumers! When users view one of our Reels, they can simply click on the shop icon in the corner and add featured items to cart — viola! Hello, conversions!
CAMPAIGN STRATEGY TIP #3: MAP OUT HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS IN ADVANCE
Planning ahead is crucial for any campaign strategy, but especially during the busy holiday promotion season. We prioritize blocking off days when our audiences are likely to be inactive, ensuring our campaign strategy aligns with audience behavior and is timed for maximum impact. A well-planned campaign strategy like this helps our clients ensure they reach their target audience when it matters most. This not only facilitates smoother execution but also reduces last-minute stress, leading to more effective campaigns overall.
When it comes to knowing when to post — and when not to post — our Q4 Promotion Planning Guide has revolutionized our client campaign strategy. For example, with 2024 being an election year, it adds a handful of more dates that we need to have on our radar. We’ve shared this with our clients and outlined our action plan to ensure their campaigns — and our hard work — pay off around key dates. Not only does this keep them in the loop on how they’re being represented on social media, but it also reassures them that they’re in good hands. 💅We also have a record of every holiday relevant to each client’s audience to leverage in their campaign strategy. This further enables us to include our clients in every relevant conversation that occurs on these holidays for optimal reach.
